And it's not just Bruins who feel that way. EVERYONE hates the university of spoiled children!
It's easy to hate a school that break into their rival school's instrument truck, steal $30,000 worth of stuff, as 'SC people did to UCLA a few years ago.

Regarding Tusk and Amy, she writes of a traditional Trojan Marching Band song played during sporting events.
Be that as it may, when I hear Tusk, regardless of location; Korea, South Africa, Russia, Germany, London, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Sidney, the end is always the same: U-C-L-A Sucks!
By the way, as far as hate goes, the only hate I read here is from your comments.

I've heard "Beat the Beavers" rise in unison from the Rose Bowl seats, and I don't think that's hate.
I hope you can tell the difference between sports cheers and actual hateful behavior from the KKK -- I really hope your comments are in jest -- otherwise you are in a sorry state o affairs.

Derek, I'm not sure how much of a Bruin you are to not know about this famous cross town rivalry and it's associated cheers and jeers.
U-C-L-A SUCKS is sung in time to the chorus of the Fleetwood Mac song TUSK and is simply good rivalry fun.
I didn't make it up. It's been around for decades.

Hey Amy, let me give you a little info...
I've been a Bruin for over 20 years, having graduated from the school in 1991. I'm sure that's a lot longer than you've been a Trojan.
Not only that, I'm 2nd generation - my mother went there in the late 60s & early 70's.
Wait, there's more: I was in the marching band at UCLA, the "Solid Gold Sound", so I've heard "Tusk" longer than you've been alive; I remember when the song was released; I was 11 (How old were you?!) Fleetwood Mac even made a video at Dodger Stadium for it.
Oh BTW, I've been to about 90% of UCLA's home games, including 16 UCLA -'SC games, #17 this Saturday - more than you, I'm sure. My first one was in 1988 - how old were you then?
And I'm perfectly willing to admit, comparing UCLA S-U-C-K-S to hate group vile IS a bit harsh, overboard, and over the top. Especially since we DO NOT suck and we are better than 'SC in so many ways:
1. BETTER SCHOOL/ACADEMICS - UCLA's ranked higher in every poll. And let me break it to you: ACADEMICS IS MORE IMPORTANT! THAT'S WHY YOU GO TO COLLEGE!! Sorry if that disillusions you.
2. MUCH, MUCH BETTER NEIGHBORHOOD - We are in the middle of perhaps the nicest neighborhood in the country, with none other than Bel-Air bordering us. Your neighborhood? One of the worst - gangs, drugs, crime; a couple of your fellow Trojans were killed around your school earlier this year.
3. UCLA'S A FRACTION OF THE COST - UCLA tuition/fees: $7,000. USC's tuition/fees: $47,000. That's almost SEVEN TIMES AS MUCH!! I'm sorry hon, but you're getting ripped off (or your daddy is at least). Even one of your Daily Trojan writers said so in your newspaper in 2003. If you don't believe me, look up your archives.
4. BETTER OVERALL ATHLETIC PROGRAM - # of national championships: UCLA - 103 (and counting), USC - 86 and not even second, Stanford has more than you! I'm really sorry to break it to you, but it's not just about football.
I hope you can grasp this truth and at least acknowledge that UCLA is a great school. And even if you guys do give us a beat-down on Saturday, that's OK. You can have your football. We'll just return the favor in basketball - twice.
Having said all that, let's agree to be civil from here on and hope that no one gets hurt at the game.

I have a few problems with your "4 reasons why UCLA is better."
1. Academics, In the definitive national rankings, US News, USC is two spaces behind USC. That is hardly enough to claim that UCLA is vastly superior. Moreover, USC has been charging in the rankings for the past 10 years and there have been at least two Daily Bruin articles discussing USC inevitable rise in Academics over UCLA. For the past five years USC has poached shitloads of proffessors from UCLA, because your poorly funded, overcrowded public institution couldn't them a decent salary. Finally, with our superior funded and privately run (meaning we don't have a fuckin state Legislature playing puppet master) pur class sizes are small and intimate while our dorms aren't overcrowded as shit.
2. Much better neighboorhood-Conceded- But Its not nearly as bad as you make it out to be-and our campus itself is much nicer.
3. With the amount of financial aid the average student receives, attending USC out of state (like me) is comparable if not less than it would cost to go to UCLA. Which brings up another point- we have way, way more geographic diversity-It is enriching to frequently meet people from all over the country.
4. Better Athletics-Its the West Coast, Football is king. Nobody gives a fu#k that your women's teams are able to give yall more NCAA titles. I repeat, being better (and only slightly) at something that nobody cares about is not good bragging material. Fine, go see your womens field hockey team kick some ass, lol have fun- im sure it will be a blast. Plus we don't have to dick around with title 9, again, we are private.

Roger, a few comments about your comments:
First, I acknowledge that u$c has goten better academically in the years since I went there, BUT...the facts remain, UCLA is still the champ. Higher ranked on every poll.
Second, how can your campus be so much icer when the buildings are so compacted that I'm a bit surprised that you guys aren't cramped. Plus, as long as your neighborhood is what it is and your fellow students keep getting killed, as that grad student did a couple of months ago...
Third, about financial aid, you may not have to pay that much now, but YOU HAVE TO PAY IT ALL BACK WHEN YOU GRADUATE! You're not getting ripped off now, but let's see if you're still feeling that way in ten years when you're paying off $100,000+ in your loans!
"Don't have to dick around with Title 9" - That sounds mighty sexist! You sound like you feel that women are 2nd class citizens. Typical trojan attitude. Sory to tell you this, but if football was banned tomorrow, UCLA will survive very well. usc? I don't know...You need to open your mind, son.
Oh, and something else I didn't mention, that I did on another piece I wrote on BR...the one reason that UCLA will always be better than 'sc: Our greatest athletes...Our greatest Bruin athlete broke the color line on April 15, 1947, and not only changed sports forever, he was also a great supporter of civil rights, marching with King, etc. (I bet you don't even know who that is!)
Your greatest athlete? A double murderer who's sitting in a Nevada prison cell as we speak for armed robbery and kidnapping for 16 years. That's a trojan who's there. Oh, the shame.
That settles that.
Having said all that, I will say one thing on your behalf; at least you're a real trojan who actually goes to the school, rather than one of the thousands of 'sc bandwaggoner "fans" who make up half your fan base.
That I can respect.
