WWE Hell in a Cell Results: Alberto Del Rio Defeats John Cena and CM Punk
Both Cena and Punk went after Del Rio to start the match. The two began to compete aggressively as to who would work him over in the corner with the crowd booing Cena and cheering CM Punk. Punk rolled up Cena for a nearfall as the men stood in the ring at a stalemate.
Cena and punk teased each others' finishers as Punk sent Cena to the outside. Del Rio dove to the outside mistakenly, and as Cena picked him up for the AA, Punk hit both men with a suicide dive.
On the outside, Del Rio pushed Punk off of the stair steps, and raced Cena to a chair that lay in the ring. Cena hit multiple moves of doom on Del Rio, but an AA attempt was thwarted. Punk re-entered with his back cut up from being pushed into the cell, and connected on a dual DDT/neckbreaker on Del Rio and Cena for a nearfall.
Punk set up a table on the outside. He connected with a knee lift on Cena, but a bulldog attempt was blocked by Cena.
Cena was met with a steel chair to the gut by Del Rio when he got back into the ring. Cena came back, however a subsequent high risk attempt was interrupted by Punk, who re-entered the match and scored a nearfall on Del Rio.
Del Rio got back in control and slapped on a chinlock. The hold was broken up by John Cena, who dove on the two with a flying leg drop for a pair of nearfalls.
An AA attempt on Del Rio was countered with a back stabber from Del Rio for a nearfall.
As Del Rio lay on the outside, Cena and Punk went back and forth. Del Rio re-entered with a chair and wiped out both Punk and Cena with the steel chair. Del Rio placed a chair in between both Punk and Cena and connected with a flying Senton splash.
Del Rio was sent to the outside as Cena connected with an AA on Punk. The pinfall was countered by Punk. Del Rio attempted a cross armbreaker on Cena, but Punk broke it up with a springboard somersault. Punk sent Del Rio to the outside and connected with a GTS on Cena.
This pinfall was broken up by Del Rio, who assaulted CM Punk on the outside, putting him out of commission for the time being.
Del Rio then threw Cena in to the side of the cage. Del Rio once again grabbed a chair and struck John Cena while on the outside.
Punk and Del Rio battled back in the ring, where Punk gained the advantage and hit a flying elbow for a nearfall. Cena re-entered and hit a series of shoulder blocks. As he attempted the Five Knuckle Shuffle, Punk kicked Cena in the head from the ground and went to the top rope. Del Rio knocked Punk off of the top rope as he went flying through a table.
Cena slapped the STF on Del Rio as Ricardo Rodriguez attacked the referee, stole the key, and entered the cell with a steel pipe in hand. Cena hit the AA on Rodriguez, but turn around and was met with a steel pipe to the ribs and head. Del Rio locked Cena out of the cell and turned his attention to Punk.
Del Rio connected with a German suplex on Punk for a nearfall. A second German Suplex was countered with a rollup from Punk for a nearfall. As Punk went to the top rope, Del Rio connected with a top rope ensuigiri.
As Cena stirred, Punk connected with kicks to Del Rio followed by a running knee lift in the corner. Punk connected with a flying clothesline for a nearfall. As Cena tried to fight his way back into the cell Del Rio struck Punk with the steel pipe.
Del Rio taunted Cena with the pipe in hand. Del Rio returned to the Ring, and CM Punk lifted Punk in the air for the GTS, but Del Rio struck Punk with the pipe. Del Rio struck Punk once again and pinned him for the win.
After the match, Miz and R-Truth came out of nowhere dressed in hooded sweatshirts and attacked Cena, Del Rio, and Punk. The cell lowered as the two attacked referees.
The WWE Superstars, Triple H, and John Laurinaitis spilled out from the back as they tried to break in. The New Orleans Police Dept was able to break into the cage with the rest of the Superstars being held at bay by police.
Truth and Miz surrendered to authorities and were handcuffed. As the two were escorted out of the arena, Triple H pounced Miz and attacked both men. Laurinaitis tried to Hold him back but was shoved to the ground for his troubles.
It took two WWE officials to hold Triple H back as the pay-per-view went off the air. Better finish than last time.
