College Football Rankings 2011: Why Clemson is Still Underrated in the Polls
The Clemson Tigers are one of the most surprising teams in the country. They started the season unranked and after three straight victories over ranked teams, they are now ranked No.8 in the country in both Polls.
You could still say the Tigers are underrated because teams like Stanford haven't earned a quality win yet. Unless you consider Duke, Arizona or UCLA a impressive victory.
You could also say they are a better team than Boise State. The Broncos have only beaten the Georgia Bulldogs and the rest are cupcakes. Sure, we know Boise is very talented but would they have lasted through the three weeks that Clemson played?
The Tigers snapped Auburn's winning streak, knocked off Florida State the next week and then went into Blacksburg and beat the Virginia Tech Hokies. That's extremely impressive considering nobody really expected much from this team. They went from nobody paying attention to favorites to win the ACC.
Their offense is as explosive as it gets and defense is very aggressive.
You could make an argument that the Clemson Tigers are better than a lot of teams including the Oklahoma Sooners but the voters won't listen.
Give it a couple more weeks.
