New York Giants' Star Receiver Plaxico Burress Has Been Shot in His Right Thigh

Nick DeSilvioCorrespondent INovember 29, 2008

After contributing mightily in the Giants upset over the Patriots in Superbowl 42, Plaxico Burress has been nothing but a giant distraction to big blue.

He has been a non-factor so far this season with struggles on and off the field. Now it looks like the giants will be without their deep field threat for quite some time.

Plaxico Burress was scratched from tomorrow's game of the Redskins due to his sore hamstring.

But that's not the only reason why he is not playing.

Plaxico Burress has been shot in his right thigh.

The cause of the shot is unknown but it is thought to be self inflicted. He was treated in a hospital over night. The severity of Burress' injuries or how they were sustained are unknown.
