ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue is coming! ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue is coming!

Sure, for anyone looking at this issue wishing they had a chiseled, amazing body like these athletes do, it's hard to ignore the unintentional double entendre on calling this the "Body Issue."

But let's not focus on that for a moment—in honor of the third edition of the Body Issue being released to newsstands on October 7, let's focus on some of the most beautiful women to appear in the first two editions of the Body Issue.

Dude, she was the first female leg-amputee to ever complete the Ironman Triathalon in 2005—that's crazy, inspiring, remarkable, and any other superlatives you feel I've missed.

    The sexy side of golf.

I like to call this photo "Sirens of the Sand Trap." I'm pretty sure there is a "lay up" pun in here somewhere, but I'm too lazy to dig it out.

She's a soccer player by trade, a pop-up book by tattooed design.

I'm not going to lie, I don't know a whole lot about wheelchair tennis.

    Here's Vergeer in action.

It's pretty cool that the Body Issue can draw attention to a sport like wheelchair tennis that many of us probably know little about.

    So well done, ESPN.

Alright ESPN, you got a heavy hitter like Serena to do the body issue.

But we're still waiting for Sharapova.

    Make this happen, Worldwide Leader.

What can you say about surfer girls that hasn't already been said?

Actually, most of what is said about surfer girls is, "Oh man, that chick is hot ... and cool!"

I'd like to reiterate that here.

In the immortal words of Borat, "Wawaweewah."

    Now that's a nice bump.

(I'm obviously talking about her bumping form in this picture, since she is a volleyball player.)

I call this picture, "Zone Defense."

Sadly, were you ever to play strip pool with Lee, it would be you in the buff.

    And nobody wants that.

Eat your heart out, Leryn Franco.

I'm just kidding, Leryn Franco—you are still the hottest javelin thrower of all time. Please don't be angry with me. We really should hang out some time.

Anyway, thanks for making it a competition, Rachel Yurkovich.

This photo would have been even more awesome if she was licking the pole, pretending it was stuck Dumb and Dumber style.

But I'm just splitting hairs now.

3. Lolo Jones

And now, here's a fan poem Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia would write to Lolo Jones:

Oh Lolo / You are as sweet as a Rolo / You run fast but let's take it slow / I don't care how many hurdles we've left to go / Let me relay my feelings to you / Please carry the baton of my heart and always be true.

    Yup, that just happened.

This sexy table tennis player has no relation to Mike Golic.

    Obviously.
