Portsmouth 2 - AC Milan 2 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) The goals started flowing just after the hour mark. Younes Kaboul grabbed the first with a fine header from a Johnson cross, and 10 minutes later Kanu doubled the lead from another cross by Johnson.

But the Rossoneri hit back, first through a tremendous Ronaldinho free-kick and then in injury-time, Pippo Inzaghi poked home to prevent a famous Pompey victory.

Schalke 0 - Manchester City 2 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Goals from Benjani and the in-form Stephen Ireland secured City a place in the knockout rounds of the competition.

NEC Nijmegen 0 - Tottenham 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Jamie O’Hara got the only goal on 14 minutes, following up after Frazier Campbell had hit the bar from a Bale cross.

Dinamo Zagreb 0 - Spartak Moscow 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008)

CSKA Moscow 2 - Lech Poznan 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Alan Dzagoev got the first for the home side and Yuri Zhirkov bravely added the second. Semir Stilic pulled one back with a free-kick that evaded everyone.

Hamburg 0 - Ajax 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Leonardo capitalised on some slack Hamburg defending and then finished well after seeing his initial effort hit both posts.

Galatasaray 0 - Metalist Kharkov 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Edmar fired home the only goal with nine minutes to go.

Zilina 0 - Slavia Prague 0 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008)

Club Brugge 1 - St. Etienne 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) David Gigliotti put the French side in front, Ronaldo Vargas equalised for Brugge.

PSG 2 - Racing Santander 2 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Mateja Kezman put the home side ahead after really rubbish defending from Santander. Just after the half-hour mark Peguy Luyindula grabbed the second from a Giuly through ball. Santander pulled one back eight minutes later through an og from Sammy Traore and Gonzalo Ruiz Colsa completed the comeback with a stunning strike, his first goal of the campaign.

Partizan Belgrade 0 - Standard Liege 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) A full-length diving header from Igor De Camargo won the game for the Belgian side.

Deportivo La Coruna 3 - Feyenoord 0 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Goals from Alberto Lopo, Kevin Hofland (og) and Andres Guardado ruined Roy Makaay’s return to his former club.

Olympiakos 5 - Benfica 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Luciano Galletti got the opener after just 38 seconds, Christos Patsaatzoglou with a fine left-footed strike, Diogo got the third finishing off a fine move. David Luiz pulled one back for the Portuguese side but further goals from Fernando Belluschi and Diogo completed the rout.

Braga 2 - Wolfsburg 3 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) An own goal from Andrea Barzagli gave the home side the lead following a passage of play that more resembled pinball than the beautiful game. Edin Dzeko tapped home Wolfsburg’s first equaliser after good play by Dejagah. Albert De Meyong put the home side in the lead again early in the second period only for Wolfsburg to hit back with a Zvejzdan Misimovic penalty and then the winner came in stoppage time, Misimovic claiming his second of the match.

Rosenberg 0 - Valencia 4 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Mata, Hernandez (brilliant run and finish), Baraja and Joaquin with the goals.

Sampdoria 1 - Stuttgart 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008)
