Just after the half-hour mark Peguy Luyindula grabbed the second from a Giuly through ball. Santander pulled one back eight minutes later through an og from Sammy Traore and Gonzalo Ruiz Colsa completed the comeback with a stunning strike, his first goal of the campaign.
Partizan Belgrade 0 - Standard Liege 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) A full-length diving header from Igor De Camargo won the game for the Belgian side.
Deportivo La Coruna 3 - Feyenoord 0 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Goals from Alberto Lopo, Kevin Hofland (og) and Andres Guardado ruined Roy Makaay’s return to his former club.
Olympiakos 5 - Benfica 1 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) Luciano Galletti got the opener after just 38 seconds, Christos Patsaatzoglou with a fine left-footed strike, Diogo got the third finishing off a fine move. David Luiz pulled one back for the Portuguese side but further goals from Fernando Belluschi and Diogo completed the rout.
Braga 2 - Wolfsburg 3 (UEFA Cup, Nov. 27, 2008) An own goal from Andrea Barzagli gave the home side the lead following a passage of play that more resembled pinball than the beautiful game. Edin Dzeko tapped home Wolfsburg’s first equaliser after good play by Dejagah. Albert De Meyong put the home side in the lead again early in the second period only for Wolfsburg to hit back with a Zvejzdan Misimovic penalty and then the winner came in stoppage time, Misimovic claiming his second of the match.
