Michigan State Spartans Fall Short Against Maryland

Charles BaldwinContributor INovember 27, 2008

The Spartans fell short tonight in Orlando as Maryland overcame an early second half deficit.  The inside presence of Goran Suton was definitely missed while he sat the game out on the bench nursing a recent knee injury. Compound this with the early fouls committed by Raymar Morgan, and you have the recipe for an upset of No. 6 Michigan State.

Michigan State also appeared to be subpar on the boards and with its free throw shooting, both of which are areas of the game where coach Tom Izzo prides himself on having good execution by his teams.

I'm not sure I would want to be present for Michigan State's next practice. One can only imagine the War Games that will ensue. If only Javon Ringer played basketball too.

Where can I comment?
