Week 3 was a wild one in the NFL.
I’m sure you were the only guy to have the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions at 3-0.
Underdogs went 8-5-2 ATS, and there were nine games that went under the total points line, while six hit the over. Defenses are finally catching up to offenses after a ridiculous two weeks of massive amounts of points.
Some teams have played as expected. The Green Bay Packers are picking up where they left off last season; the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots aren’t far behind.
The Cincinnati Bengals are heading towards another long season, as are the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings.
Then there are teams like the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons that are very difficult to figure out. Three weeks isn’t enough to evaluate their future this season.
Week 4 will help clear up some of the confusion, with great games such as….uhhh…the Jets at the Ravens and the Steelers at the Texans.
Other than that, there are not a ton of juicy match-ups. Week 4 features a grand total of zero divisional games, and the Monday night game is Indianapolis at Tampa Bay.
This is a week where the good teams take care of business and don’t let the lesser opponent hang around into the fourth quarter.
It will be interesting to see how the Bills handle all of the attention of being undefeated in a very winnable game at Cincinnati. Ditto for Detroit at Dallas and Tennessee at Cleveland.
