WWE RAW's Intercontinental No. 1 Contender Tournament

First, let me start by saying I like the concept.

Find a new No. 1 contender for William Regal to face, but the whole thing seems so rushed together to me.

There was no "teasing" of the event beforehand, it was just BOOM! here is a tournament starting tonight on RAW!

Wouldn't it have been a better idea to have Stephanie McMahon announce the tournament and then have it begin the following week?

Then, there were no brackets or visuals...it would be nice to know who the eight men are in the tournament and who would be facing who in the opening round.

Plus, Santino Marella isn't in the tournament? The former I.C. champ and inventor of the "Honk-A-Meter" doesn't deserve a first-round entry?

As a former radio station Program Director, I was always told when it came to events or contests to follow 3 simple rules...

1. Tell people you are going to do something (preview what is coming up/tease it/include all the details)

2. Do it (have the event or contest)

3. Tell people you did it (recap after the event make sure everyone knows it has been done and how great it was).

To me this is just another good idea that was thrown together at the last minute and wasn't properly planned and introduced to the fans.
