UFC 135 Results: Instant Analysis and Reaction for James Te Huna vs. Ricardo Romero
This was kind of a meaningless battle seeing as James Te Huna and Ricardo Romero won’t see a UFC title bout in their career.
Being a New Jersey native though I couldn’t help but watch the fight to root for Romero.
Te Huna dropped Romero early on and was stuffing all of his takedowns. Then on one attempted takedown, Te Huna knocked out Romero.
Te Huna moves up from his low ranking and will probably face a lesser known light heavyweight. Te Huna was coming off of a loss to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 127 and will probably not see the chance to get a rematch to avenge that loss. Te Huna should face the loser of the Eliot Marshall vs. Brandon Vera fight at UFC 137.
As for Romero, I think he will be cut from the UFC with this second straight loss and he hasn’t done anything big since he submitted Seth Petruzelli at UFC 116.
