College Football Rankings: Clemson Can Prove They Are for Real in the ACC
The Clemson Tigers went from being unranked just a couple weeks ago to being No.13 in the AP Top 25 Poll. With impressive wins over Auburn and Florida State, this Tigers team is one of the hottest in the country.
They now have a chance to get hotter and impress even more nonbelievers with a chance to knock off another ranked team in Virginia Tech.
Let's be honest there are some people that still aren't completely sold on this Clemson team. They came out of nowhere and got hot extremely fast. Even Vegas has the Hokies as a seven point favorite.
Whether you believe in this team or not they are extremely fun to watch. There is a ton of speed on both sides of the ball and what an improvement Tajh Boyd has made in a year. The sophomore quarterback has thrown for over 1,200 yards, 13 touchdowns and only one interception.
Then you have the young speedsters in Sammy Watkins and Andre Ellington. They have combined for 923 total yards and nine touchdowns. This offense is extremely difficult to stop and it hasn't been done yet.
Virginia Tech hasn't really looked that great so far this season with struggling performances against East Carolina and Arkansas State. Although you can expect them to wake up for this game and play their best game of the season so far.
This game is really about Clemson though and another chance for them to prove if they're for real or not. It will be their first game on the road this season and a chance to beat three ranked teams in a row.
With a win they'll easily sneak into the Top 10 and become a favorite to win the ACC Championship and have an outside shot at the National Championship game.
This is huge.
