Unfortunately for them, they have the toughest schedule of the three teams. Fortunately for them, they have the best defense of the three teams.
In the end, I think the Colts and Patriots are the two AFC wild-card teams. But the Ravens will be in it until the end, and if either the Colts or the Patriots falter, the Ravens will be a more than suitable playoff replacement.
9 (10) New England Patriots (7-4-0): Power 10 Points: 125
Is it too early to start a “Matt Cassel for MVP” campaign? Only four guys in NFL history went over 400 yards passing two weeks in a row before he did. He’s also run for two touchdowns, thrown six touchdowns, and most importantly, he’s only thrown one interception the last two weeks. And the INT was on a tipped ball.
If the Patriots make the playoffs, he has to get some serious consideration for MVP. Right? Or am I crazy?
10 (6) Arizona Cardinals (7-4-0): Power 10 Points: 119
Don’t worry about the loss to the Giants. Everyone loses to the Giants. Look at it this way: Everyone’s playing for second place in the NFC, and you guys are currently the odds on favorite to win it.
Second place, that is. Nobody’s beating the Giants.
Dropped Out:
Nobody. Two weeks in a row. Crazy.
Barely Missed:
11 (-) Dallas Cowboys (7-4-0): Power 10 Points: 102
Well, there is one team that could beat the Giants. But the Cowboys would have to fire Wade Phillips and replace him with a real head coach prior to the game. Even if the first part of that happens, the Cowboys aren’t smart enough to make the second part happen…
12 (-) Washington Redskins (7-4-0): Power 10 Points: 98
BARELY hung on to beat the Seahawks. They were Matt Hasselbeck’s worst game as a pro away from dropping out of the playoff picture altogether. That’s either a wake-up call or a sign of bad things to come.
My guess? I’d spend my playoff ticket money on Christmas presents for the kids, were I a Redskins fan…
13 (-) Indianapolis Colts (7-4-0): Power 10 Points: 94
Don’t look now, but the Colts are slowly moving back up the Power 10 rankings…
Bottom Four:
29 (29) St. Louis Rams (2-9-0): Power 10 Points: -64
Do you realize that the Rams have scored 197 points less than they’ve given up? That’s jarring.
30 (31) Cincinnati Bengals (1-9-1): Power 10 Points: -68
The Bengals moved up one spot, and they’re only 4 points away from moving up another spot. Two, three more ties and they’ll be out of the bottom four altogether!
31 (30) Kansas City Chiefs (1-10-0): Power 10 Points: -74
How is Herm Edwards still employed?
32 (32) Detroit Lions (0-11-0): Power 10 Points: -102
Enjoy your Thanksgiving, fellas!
