Super Bowl XLII: Will Everyone Correctly Recall this Giant Win?

The New York Giants did it. They beat every team that stood in their way; Dallas, Green Bay and finally the 18-0 New England Patriots.

Super Bowl XLII was a hard fought, defensive struggle that will always be remembered, but will people recall the game as it was played?

Will they remember that it wasn't Eli Manning, but Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora who were the MVPs?

How about the fact that, while there was constant pressure, Tom Brady's ankle sprain limited his ability to avoid the rush, or dig in for those fifty-yard bombs to Randy Moss?

And most importantly, will everyone remember that on the biggest play of the game, Eli Manning wasn't sacked by sheer luck and didn't throw the ball into the waiting arms of a safety or corner by even greater luck?

I know everyone wants to believe that Eli is that good and that he is the best late-game quarterback in the NFL, but the fact is, on that play alone, he risked becoming the biggest bonehead in Super Bowl history for winging a third and five pass thirty-five yards downfield without really aiming.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Tom Coughlin or Steve Spagnuolo or anyone on the Giants defense, but I admit I am trying to take something away from that game winning drive.  A big something.
