Scott Gomez Returns To Lineup and Leads Rangers To Win Over Coyotes

Before last night's game, Scott Gomez had previously been out for the last five games with a leg injury. Gomez's return revitalized the blue-shirts as they defeated the Coyotes 4-1.

The Rangers' goals were scored by Brandon Dubinsky, Blair Betts, Daniel Girardi, and Scott Gomez. Nikolai Zherdev had three assists and was the first star of the game. Henrik Lundqvist also had a very good game as he only allowed one goal and stopped 35 shots. Lundqvist won his league leading thirteenth game.

With the win, the Rangers broke a two game losing streak and they improved their record to 15-7-2.

Scott Gomez has to be considered an MVP candidate. I know it is a bold statement, but without him, the rangers are a border-line playoff team. With him, they are Stanley Cup contenders.

I know that he isn't as flashy and doesn't post as good numbers as say a Crosby or Ovechkin, but he is still a playmaker and he makes things happen when he is on the ice.
