Boise State is an obvious team that would benefit from super conferences coming together and forcing the NCAA to install a playoff system.
For the past few years, it was believed that Boise State should get a shot at the national championship. The fact that they play in the weak Mountain West Conference took the Broncos right out of the conversation.
Nearly everyone has been crying for a playoff system, and a Pac-16 would only bring us one step closer to finally having our prayers answered.
There is certainly a shift in college football, as conferences are starting to dissolve. The Big 12 is a prime example of this.
At the very least, there will have to be a playoff system implemented within the Pac-16 to determine the champion.
According to ESPN.com, the Pac-16 could get divided up into four pods. You could have the winners of each pod play each other, which would set up for a Pac-16 championship game from the two winners.
This is only a theory, but it could become a reality if the formation of the Pac-16 does indeed happen.
