Floyd Mayweather Sr. to Train Oscar De La Hoya Instead of The Hitman?

Bleacher ReportCorrespondent INovember 25, 2008

I recently reported that Ricky Hatton was going to continue with his lifestyle of drinking and eating fast food, much to the dislike of his current trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr.

Well I found that the British press have recently reported that if he keeps going like this and disobeys him he may leave.

Another motive for him leaving was that if “The Hitman’s” possible next opponent Oscar de la Hoya, was to offer him more money he would switch allegiance.

It seems like a lust for money is common in the Mayweather family.  Floyd Mayweather Jr. was also very motivated by money compared to other sports people.

Even though Mayweather Sr. has been training Hoya for almost all of his fights since 2001, he will most likely become subject to a bidding war to secure his services.

Both Oscar de la Hoya and Mayweather Sr. have had arguments and disagreements it seems that Hoya wants to regain the services of one of the top boxing trainers.

I guess we will have to wait and see which fighter Mayweather Sr. decides.

What do you think will happen?
