After connecting on all three field goals against Maryland, FSU kicker Graham Gano has been named one of three finalists for the Lou Groza Trophy.  The Groza Trophy goes to the top kicker in college football.  Gano joins Josh Arauco of Arkansas State and Louie Sakoda of Utah as the three finalists.

Sebastian Janikowski won the award in 1998 and 1999 while he was the kicker for FSU

Gano leads the nation in field goals per game and has hit more field goals from 50 yards and out than any other FBS kicker.  He is made 21 of 23 field goals, including a streak of 18 in a row.  His only two misses have come from 50 yards or better.

He is also the leading scorer in the ACC even though he was sidelined the first two weeks of the season with a knee injury.

On top of being named a Groza finalist, Gano was also honored as the ACC Specialist of the Week for his three field goal effort against Maryland.  It was Gano's fourth time being awarded ACC Specialist of the Week.  He was also joined by FSU's Everette Brown, who was awarded the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week Award.
