Syracuse Tames Gators, but Jayhawks Present a Serious Problem

Rest up Syracuse, because Tuesday night is going to be a serious battle. The Orange may have "upset" Florida Monday night in Kansas City—a great non-conference win for Syracuse—but Kansas is a tough team. They just dismantled Washington 73-54, playing great defense.

Syracuse and Florida didn't play much defense, and Florida seem to be more inexperienced than the Cuse.

With Devendorf shut down because of Florida's zone defense that clogged the lanes, Jonny Flynn and Paul Harris each scored 18 points.

But the real key to the game was the play of Andy Rautins, who hit five threes in the first half for 15 points overall. Rautins was exploiting the zone big time, like teams would do to an under-manned Syracuse team last year.

Again, Syracuse's defense was almost non-existent, and they had too many turnovers (16). However, they out-rebounded Florida by eight, and were just plain tougher at times.

But Kansas is a great team, led by Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich, and Syracuse will have their hands full. Should be a good game.
