Glory, aka Prepare the Way, has taken the first step towards being a race horse...she accepted the bit for the first time. Horray! Progress! Next stop...Louisville!! OK, maybe not. But she is taking a liking to the training, so that is good progress indeed.
Hope, aka Perfect Pet, is continuing to run well, even though she seems to like second place an awful lot. Her current line reads 9 races: 1 win, 5 seconds, 0 thirds, and 3 also rans. Currently earnings as a 2 year old are $48,000.
We got letter from the VTA asking us to write the politicians in Richmond about the Internet wagering dispute with Colonial Downs. My answer? No...no I will not write anything. If I did it would go something like this:
Dear Virginia Racing Commission:
I am writing to express my great displeasure with Colonial Downs and their attempt to steal money from the breeders of Virginia thoroughbreds. I am also writing to express my great displeasure at the VTA and Colonial Downs for mismanaging the Virginia Breeder's Fund by giving all the money to the owners of Virginia thoroughbreds at this summer's meet in a free for all spending spree. I would also like to recommend that the Fund rename itself to the Virginia Owners Fund as breeders, like me, are getting the short end of the fund.
P.S. I am owed $168 in breeders awards for my horse's success at Colonial...cash only.
See...too negative. I was always taught that if you are angry, sit back and wait 48 hours. Its been two months and I still haven't calm down over this issue.
