Looks like there will be no Knowshon this week. One tweet from the injury expert has Moreno as inactive.
The folks over at RotoWire have also confirmed the same thing:
"Moreno will not play Sunday against the Bengals, GM John Elway told CBS Sports' Shannon Sharpe during The NFL Today broadcast."
The NFL.com Blog Post reports that the Broncos will be missing Moreno and many other players.
Denver will be without a host of impact players, including CB Champ Bailey, DE Elvis Dumervil, WR Brandon Lloyd, RB Knowshon Moreno, WR Demaryius Thomas, DT Marcus Thomas, and LB D.J. Williams.
The folks over at Yahoo agree that Denver is up against it.
"While many disgruntled fantasy football players will be disgruntled by the absence of Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, the team most affected in the reality sweepstakes in the afternoon games is the Denver Broncos."
The ESPN folks kind of feel sorry for the Mile High team and so do I, kind of:
If Moreno can’t play, Willis McGahee would start and Lance Ball would get some carries. Denver ran the ball just 13 times in a loss to Oakland on Monday night. Losing Moreno wouldn’t help Denver increase that total against the Bengals.
Times are tough in Denver and they might get even tougher Sunday.
Boston.com points out that the Broncos were prepared to lose Moreno.
(Broncos did) promote running back Jeremiah Johnson from their practice squad with Knowshon Moreno hobbled with a hamstring injury.
Now let's see if they have enough practice squad people to replace the rest of their injuries.
