Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson is threatening to sit out next season if he isn't traded, reports ESPN's Chris Mortenson.
Johnson felt he could not function in the dispassionate environment created by coach Marvin Lewis, who quit talking to the receiver at the beginning of the 2007 season.
Commentary: First the NFL told him to shut up and play when it limited on-field celebrations, a rule basically aimed directly at Johnson's innovative touchdown revelry. Then Marvin Lewis told him to mellow his often audacious attitude. Apparently, Ocho Cinco can't take it anymore.
Unfortunately for Johnson, the Bengals would take a $2.5 million salary-cap hit if they trade or release him. It's hard to imagine them making that move.
Fantasy Football Impact: Hopefully none of this threatens his perennial spot as a top-10 fantasy receiver.
