College Football Rankings 2011 Week 4: Can Anyone Stop Landry Jones and Sooners?
Landry Jones and the Oklahoma Sooners have cleared one major hurdle by hitting the road and defeating Florida State.
The Sooners, who possess an explosive offense to go along with a ball hawking defense, have the perfect mix for a team looking to run the table.
That conversation begins and ends with Jones though.
Jones has grown a great deal as a quarterback from his time as a backup to Sam Bradford, to the guy that's leading the top ranked team in the nation.
The question is though, can anyone stop these guys?
Offensively, probably not. As long as Jones continues to play at a high level; especially on the road, Oklahoma shouldn't have a hard time scoring points.
Jones will continue to be the focal point of the Sooners offense, but he really hasn't got going yet. He will, and then look out.
Wide receiver Ryan Broyles has been outstanding and he will continue to give opposing defense fits. Not only that, but the Sooners can run the ball as well with Dominiqe Whaley.
Flat out, the Sooners have multiple weapons and will be tough for teams to stop.
Defensively though, Oklahoma is tough to move the ball on. They are fast and aggressive and are capable of making game changing plays.
While Oklahoma still has tough test remaining with the likes of Texas, Baylor, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State, if Jones is playing well this team will be very difficult to beat.
