Athletes have traditionally cleaned up on Dancing with the Stars, taking the crown in six of the 12 seaons of the show. Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Kristi Yamaguchi, Shawn Johnson, Helio Castroneves and Hines Ward have already handled business for the athletes, and in season 13 of the show, Ron Artest and Hope Solo will attempt to do the same.

But who should make an appearance on the show after this season?

Glad you asked. I think you'll be pleased to see that I've compiled 20 sexy athletes that should appear on the show in the future, for reasons obvious to all.

Let the dancing begin.

20. Skylar Diggins

Why DWTS would want her: If she's good enough for Lil Wayne...

Why she would want DWTS: Once she graduates from college, why not expand her brand value with an appearance on DWTS?

Her chances of winning: Let's see how Ron Artest does before we weigh in on her chances.

19. Allison Stokke

Why DWTS would want her: Because the Internet would probably blow up if it was announced she was going to make the show. Every single sports blog would trump this news as the greatest thing to ever happen. Or something like that.

Why she would want DWTS: In this economy, it wouldn't be a bad job to have out of college.

Her chances of winning: Irrelevant. Her appearance alone would be a victory for modern civilization.

18. Alex Morgan

Why DWTS would want her: Hey, why stop with Hope Solo?

Why she would want DWTS: To do better than Solo does, of course.

Her chances of winning: She's the future face of women's soccer in America—she better do well.

17. Roberta Mancino

Why DWTS would want her: I'm going to continue to post that video until everyone in the world knows how sexy and badass she is. Speaking of badass, she would be by far the biggest badass the show ever had.

Why she would want DWTS: Just another notch on her belt, right?

Her chances of winning: I wouldn't bet against her. I mean, she jumps out of planes and glides beside cliff faces, for heaven's sake. Plus, she looked like she had some moves in the video.

16. Anna Rawson

Why DWTS would want her: Golfer Rawson has elegant sexiness, which in my opinion is the type that fits into formal dancing perfectly.

Why she would want DWTS: I just said she had elegant sexiness—she should do it for that compliment alone.

Her chances of winning: Probably pretty good, actually. But then again, I'm only basing that on the fact that she looks the part.

15. Serena Williams

Why DWTS would want her: Whether you like her or not, Serena still moves the needle. She would make for good television.

Why she would want DWTS: Methinks she could use some positive press.

Her chances of winning: All I'm saying is, heaven help anyone who critiques her performance.

14. Jenn Brown

Why DWTS would want her: Hey, things worked out well with Erin Andrews—why not go the sexy reporter route again?

Why she would want DWTS: To do better than Andrews, of course.

Her chances of winning: Don't forget that Brown was an athlete during her college days (which is why I allowed her inclusion on the list), serving as captain of the Florida softball team her senior season. I think Brown would be a sneaky pick to win the whole thing.

13. Ana Ivanovic

Why DWTS would want her: Who doesn't want her?

Why she would want DWTS: She's top-20 in the WTA rankings, though how many people other than drooling-male fans of female tennis are familiar with her? It would catapult her into the marketability of Sharapova, especially if she did well.

Her chances of winning: Probably not great, but it would be amazing while it lasted.

12. Alana Blanchard

Why DWTS would want her: She's gorgeous. Also, her story—she is a close friend of Bethany Campbell, who was the subject of the film Soul Surfer—would make her a fascinating addition to the cast.

Why she would want DWTS: I'm not sure if surf culture would dig on DWTS culture, so maybe she wouldn't want to be on the show. Then again, maybe it would be a far-out thing to try. (I'm so lame.)

Her chances of winning: I have no idea, but I'd be rooting for her!

11. Allison Baver

Why DWTS would want her: For one, because she is incredibly hot. And Olympians tend to do well on the show.

Why she would want DWTS: Speedskating won't last forever. Neither will an appearance on DWTS, but the paycheck would be nice.

Her chances of winning: Hey, if fellow speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno could win, why couldn't she?

10. Lindsey Vonn

Why DWTS would want her: America's sexiest skier still moves the needle.

Why she would want DWTS: It might be nice to compete in a warmer environment for a change.

Her chances of winning: Never count out an Olympian. Still, I'm not sure if the skiing skill set would translate to a DWTS victory.

9. Michelle Wie

Why DWTS would want her: She just seems like the perfect athlete for any reality show. Everybody knows her, but because she never became the Tiger Woods of the LPGA, people are curious as to what she's up to today. Make this happen, DWTS.

Why she would want DWTS: It would put her directly back into the spotlight. Her agent would want it as much as her.

Her chances of winning: Not good. Whether it's true or not, golfers just seem like nerds. Nerds don't translate well into dancing competitions. I'm trying to think if I can pack any other stereotypes into this slide...nope, I'm done.

8. Danica Patrick

Why DWTS would want her: She's a household name at this point.

Why she would want DWTS: Because people are starting to really despise all of the "GoDaddy" commercials she appears in. Throw us a bone, Danica.

Her chances of winning: Not a chance in hell—she's a driver, after all. But it would be fun to see her try.

7. Amanda Beard

Why DWTS would want her: She was rumored to be one of the contestants this season, though that didn't happen. They would take her story of self-destruction resulting from the pressures of celebrity and make it one of the subplots of the season.

Why she would want DWTS: Whereas before I think she would see it as more pressure to put on herself, now I think she would have fun with the experience. Purely speculation, of course.

Her chances of winning: Fellow swimmer Natalie Coughlin was eliminated mid-season, so Beard would at least have to top that, right?

6. Maria Kirilenko

Maria19_display_image

Why DWTS would want her: Maybe they can't get the other sexy 'Maria' from tennis, so they settle on the hottest consolation prize ever.

Why she would want DWTS: The chance to establish herself as the hotter 'Maria.'

Her chances of winning: Tennis involves a different set of footwork and movement than what is required in dancing, so her learning curve would probably be pretty high.

5. Nastia Liukin

Why DWTS would want her: They've wanted her in the past, though she turned down the show in 2009 to remain focus on gymnastics.

Why she would want DWTS: Who doesn't like money?

Her chances of winning: Guaranteed winner.

4. Jennie Finch

Jennie-finch-feet-352145_display_image

Why DWTS would want her: The name 'Jennie Finch' still carries weight with males everywhere. They would pull in a lot of viewers they may not otherwise get with Finch.

Why she would want DWTS: Why not capitalize one last time on her fame? Get it while the gettin's good, I always say. (I never say that.)

Her chances of winning: Probably not very good, but that's not really the point.

3. Anna Kournikova

131753_display_image

Why DWTS would want her: Even though she's an ex-tennis player, she still moves the needle.

Why she would want DWTS: When's the last time she's done something spotlight-worthy?

Her chances of winning: Not a chance in hell. Athletes that have won DWTS in the past have all been very good at the sport they participated in.

2. Leryn Franco

Lerynfranco-4-6391_display_image

Why DWTS would want her: Because sex sells. Duh.

Why she would want DWTS: Javelin probably isn't going to bring her the big bucks. Appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and on Dancing with the Stars will. It's a no-brainer on her end.

Her chances of winning: Higher than you'd think. Olympians have been the champs on three different occasions (Shawn Johnson, Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Anton Ohno), so Franco has that going for her.

1. Maria Sharapova

Sharapovaap1207_468x908_display_image

Why DWTS would want her: Because she's Maria Sharapova. Duh.

Why she would want DWTS: Because she would make a whole lot of us very happy. Be selfless, Maria!

Her chances of winning: Eh, who cares? Her appearance on the show would be a victory for mankind.
