Get Well Soon Seve! Olazabal Talks About His Great Friend's Recovery

Bleacher ReportCorrespondent INovember 23, 2008

As we all know, golfing legend Seve Ballesteros has been in hospital for a few months now suffering from a brain tumour.  He recently went in for surgery to remove the malignancy, and doctors have been positive about his progress.

The 51-year-old underwent an operation that lasted over six and a half hours to reduce the swelling around his brain.

Fellow Spanish star and good friend Jose Maria Olazabal confirmed at this week’s Hong Kong Open what the doctors had previously stated: that Seve was making steady progress in his Madrid hospital.

Both Jose and Seve’s families have been upbeat about the five-time major winner.

"Everybody seems to be really optimistic," Olazabal said. "Even the doctors are saying that Seve's improvement has been fantastic so far...He will still have to get stronger, but he's doing fine."

Get well soon, Seve!
