Florida State-Maryland: Pregame

Chris WhitmoreCorrespondent INovember 22, 2008

I'm going to try something new for this game.  Instead of a general recap after the game, I want to try and do blog-style updates after each quarter.

Pregame

It is a half-hour before kick-off and FSU already has two victories on the day.  Earlier this afternoon, FSU safety Myron Rolle was awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship and is en route (or possibly already at) College Park, MD via plane.

Congrats to Myron who is making the FSU community proud after the negative light cast upon the university with the brawl last week.

There were eight scenarios playing out to determine the ACC Atlantic Division winner and only one of them had FSU winning.

The first step began for that scenario when Boston College beat Wake Forest earlier today, 24-21 at Wake Forest.  BC starting QB Chris Crane was knocked out of the game with a broken collarbone.  The loss eliminated Wake Forest from the race and leaves only Boston College, Maryland and Florida State.

I'll post a recap after the first quarter.
