Arian Foster is officially ruled out of today's opening day game for the Texans
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is inactive for today's opening day game against the Indianapolis Colts. Foster has been ruled out due to his ailing hamstring, which was injured twice in the preseason.
Filling in for 2010's leading rusher is Derrick Ward, with Ben Tate coming off the bench in rotation. Steve Slaton might also see some time.
For Fantasy Football managers (like myself) who drafted Foster, Ward and Tate may be available in your league and either may be a decent fill-in, especially if the Texans have a good lead over the Peyton Manning-less Colts late in the game.
Another consideration would be Washington Redskins back Tim Hightower. After winning the starting job going into this season, Hightower is still available in 15 percent of Yahoo! Leagues at the time of this writing.
