On Friday the NHL announced that Alexander Ovechkin took home the first star of the month of January. J.P. Dumont was named second star and Cristobal Huet was the third star of the month.
Ovechkin notched 13 goals and 22 points in the month of January and was plus 9 as well. The Russian superstar now leads the league in goals (43) and points (70).
Dumont racked up 6 goals and 20 points this past month in 14 games. Dumont just signed a contract extension with the Predators worth $16 million over the next 4 years.
Cristobal Huet had a record of 8-2-1 in the month of January as well as a 2.40 GAA and 1 shutout.
