College Football Rankings 2011: Predictions, Analysis for Week 2 AP and Coaches Polls

After an early shakeup in the AP and Coaches' Polls in Week 1 that saw Notre Dame, Auburn and TCU kicked to the curb and a little respect thrown in the direction of Baylor and South Florida after their respective upsets, things should cool off a bit in Week 2.

With the marquee matchups of the week limited to Alabama (3) vs. Penn State (23), South Carolina (12) vs. Georgia, Notre Dame vs. Michigan and Auburn vs. Mississippi State (12), there doesn't appear to be a lot of movement in the rankings barring an upset.

But then again, when was the last time you went through a week of college football without at least one upset?

Don't expect the kind of shakeup you saw after Week 1—things always move fast when preseason rankings are put to the test—but we should get a clearer picture on the backend of the Top 25 and find out if any of the contenders at the top are really just pretenders.

Stay here on B/R for updates and reaction throughout the week.
