Green Bay Packers rookie WR/KR may have provided the best play of the 2011 NFL season in the opening game, returning a third-quarter kickoff 108 yards against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night.
Cobb, a rookie out of Kentucky, had already impressed with a 32-yard touchdown catch from Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter. Not to be outdone, though, the rookie insisted on racing 108 yards from the back of his own end zone—improbably maintaining balance after performing a barrel roll over a Saints coverage man around the 30-yard line—and claiming the season's first kick return for a touchdown after New Orleans' Darren Sproles had previously tallied a punt return touchdown in the second quarter.
Fantasy football owners should seek to claim Cobb off the waiver wire if they haven't done so already. Cobb is absolutely one of the 2011 NFL season's top fantasy football sleepers. The Packers rookie is a dynamic player in both the receiving and return games, and will only get better as he continues to work with Rodgers.
Packers fans will hope this incredible touchdown return is a sign of things to come. Fantasy owners should seek to raise his stock in their rankings and claim this talented sleeper before it's too late.
