As the teams prepare to battle in the opening game of the 2011 NFL season, I prepare to write about all the bone-crunching hitting, tightly-threaded spirals and X's and O's of this beautiful game.

Sean Payton and Drew Brees have talked all week about how much last season's opening-season game, as well as 2007's opener at Indianapolis, would help this team in this game at Green Bay.

And of course, Green Bay has the monkey on their back in many ways. They're expected to win this game. The Saints are obviously expected to give them a fight, but they certainly are not expected to win.

And going back to 2006, Sean Payton's team has generally played their best football as an underdog.

So those are just a few of the storylines going into tonight's game that I want to cover on this Quick Hit of Thursday Night's season opener on NBC.

Additionally, here are my Saints' offensive and defensive game plans for tonight's game. These are basically what I expect the Saints to do offensively and defensively tonight against a tough Green Bay team.
