MSU vs. Auburn: Tigers’ Goal Line Stand Shows Team Isn’t Laying Down in 2011
n the waning seconds of yesterday game in Auburn, Mississippi State had the ball at the goal line of Auburn ready to go in for the game winning score against the home standing Tigers.
But as most believe the Bulldogs would punch the ball into the end zone scoring their first SEC West victory of the season, Tigers backup Chris Relf had other ideas as he stuffed the MSU quarterback as Auburn moved to 2-0 in 2011.
Gene Chizik is proving that his team believes and isn’t just going to just lay down this season after the loss of Cam Newton and other playmakers from last season’s National Championship team.
Quarterback Barrett Trotter and running back Michael Dyer have done a fantastic job filling the gigantic shoes left by last season’s Heisman winner as the new Auburn duo has accounted for six touchdowns in the early part of the 2011 season.
Auburn will have another difficult task coming next week as the team travels to the ACC’s version of Death Valley at Clemson in a game that could end up having the winner determined by who has the ball last next week.
Can the Tigers continue to win in this fashion or will the competition finally catch up to the defending National Champions?
