Inter will come into Round 13 of Serie A playing arguably the most important match thus far in the season.

They are facing a Juventus squad that has recovered from their slumps early on and now have strung together an impressive seven victories in a row, no easy feat by any means in a defensive league like Serie A.

But as well as Juventus have played, the same cannot be said of the Nerazurri.

Inter Milan come into the game with an unimpressive campaign up to this point. As an Inter fan I have to admit that they have failed to impress me but once this season, the 4-0 crushing of AS Roma.

They could not beat Werder Bremen at home, they gave up three silly goals to Anorthosis Famagusta—ending the game in a 3-3 draw—and scored a few late goals that earned them maximum points in other games.

It is hard to point out exactly what is wrong with Inter currently. It could be that they are too confident, or they could be going through a transition period with new coach Mourinho.

Maybe all the trouble with Adriano could have had some sort of affect on the squad. However, as much as they have failed to impress, they are still atop Serie A and their Champions League group. Now that's a scary thought!

NOTE TO OTHER TEAMS: Take away as many points as you can off of INTER now.

I think most of you will agree when with me when I say that it is only a matter of time before the Milan giant awakens its true potential. And when that happens, there will be no stopping them.

They have one of the best coaches, arguably the most complete squad, the best striker in the world, and an unbreakable defense. Yes, I know people, they have made a few "stupid" errors on the defensive end but they've got it together, and don't forget about the game against Udinese.

Udinese were the hottest offense in Serie A coming into the game against Inter, but only got one good chance early on in the second half and that was about it.

To all the teams that believe they will take the Scudetto from Inter, like Aerosmith said:

"Dream on, Dream on......"

  1. "NOTE TO OTHER TEAMS: Take away as many points as you can off of INTER now."

There's no need to do that. Inter is the kind of team that, when everything is served for victory, simply fails. Last season they held a massive 10 points lead over Roma, with little more than a month left to finish the campionato; while entering the picth in the the last match of the season, they only had one point lead.

No matter how many points Inter manage to take now.....we'll speak at the end of the season, where the Inter of the "great moments" is shown in its true dimension.

    1. Great teams always find a way to win. And I do believe that Inter had many injuries towards the end of the season including Zlatan, who returned the last game and scored two goals.

    2. People have been saying that for the past two seasons. INTER WILL NOT WIN SCUDETTO.

And what happened? Exactly, if anything you should be the one quite about what Inter will win this term. I at least have history to back up my claims. You'r arguement is based on pure bias and disliking of Inter and Ibra, it's very obvious.

But yeah go watch your EPL; the best SELF-PROCLAIMED league in the world. It is all marketing man. Italian football is better. Just look at who won the WC2006 while England did not even go to the EURO's lol.

  2. Who's this best striker in the world? Ibrahimovic? Both he and the rest of the Inter team was made look ordinary by Liverpool last year....

Inter indeed look very good at the moment...but if they were to come up against any of the Liverpool, Manchester United or Chelsea trio, I think they would recieve a good beating over two legs.

As for Ibrahimovic..overrated. Same for Mancini.

This is not an attack of your article mate, I just dont agree. But its nice to get an update on BR about the happenings of the Italian League

    1. Typical Man U/EPL fan. Only pays attention to one league. Ibra is overrated?. You either know nothing about football or haven't seen him play.

Try catching more than two matches before calling the best striker in the world overrated.

      Forza Il Biscione!

    2. Keith I hope you remember that liverpool did not score a goal while Inter had all 11 players on the pitch on both games. Also, liverpool always seems to get by with some BS calls by the ref. Remember the red card matterazi got? Remember the penalty they recieved against Arsenal? And remember the penalty against athletico?

Irahimovic overrated? come on man, are you paying any attention to him or just hearing crap about how england league is the best and their players are as well? Funny thing about EPL....there best players are not even from England: Torres, Ronaldo, Van Persie, Fabregas, Petr Czech, Berbatov....I could go on but you get the point.

  3. Let's be honest. Ibrahimovic is not the best striker in the world. It's a very good one, but i won't point him as being the best. You can be enthusiastic about his extraordinary current form, but he has also some handicaps. He tends to dissappear in crucial games. Torres, Villa, Benzema, Eto'o, all them have scored more goals in the past two seasons than Ibrahimovic, and are younger than him. He has never won any important personal prize, barely he figures in the lists for it; never has been the top scorer of any tournament, and you label him as being the best striker in the world? undoubtedly you two are quite fervent supporters, and i respect that, but Ibrahimovic is not the world's best. One of the best, i agree.

The argument that liverpool did not score a goal while Inter had all 11 players sounds like a loser's excuse. Mourinho said something like that when he was defeated by Liverpool or Barcelona, i don't remember now which one was. The fact that in both games a player was dismissed says a lot about a team's philosophy. Inter was correctly penalised by their infamous style of playing. Apparently they felt more comfortable playing with 10, as scores of games last season saw Inter finish this way; therefore this was not a problem of impartiality or referees, this was indeed an Inter problem.

  4. Benzema? the one that plays in the french league? hehe dont kid yourself buddy, he is a good player and he will be on Ibras level soon but LETS BE HONEST. Inter are a stacked team, they have many scoring options. Currently they may rely on Ibra a bit too much but when everyone else starts to score he wont get as many chances, which is ok as long as the team wins. Plus ibra played in nomore then 25 games last season I believe and he had 21 goals.....not too bad if you ask me. Torres? What individual prize has he won? Didnt Cesc beat him out to YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR in the EPL with Torres scoring all those goals? I think he did. Zlatan won swedish player of the year 3 time in a row, that's impressive, no swede ever did that.

Loosers excuse? If you seriously believe that Materazzi was failry sent off then you are either STUPID or you are very biased and want to hate on Inter. I think it's the latter.

Argue this point: Ibrahimovic in his lst 5 seasons has won 5 LEAGUE titles.

1 with Ajax, 2 with juventus ( who havent won since he left ), and 2 with Inter. Funny how, where ever he goes, glory follows him.

  5. Swedish player of the year.......great prize, very famous and world acclaimed. I think Eto'o has won the cameroonian player of the year like 7 times.

Zlatan played 26 games last season and scored 17 goals (0,65). Torres had 33 apperances at EPL and scored 24 goals (1,37)........better average for Torres. He also broke Van Nistelrooy's record of most prolific foreign player in the EPL; Zlatan won the best foreign player in his first year at the serie A. I still don't see any advantage for Ibrahimovic.

As for the game against Liverpool, i really don't want to enter into any appreciation on this point, as any consideration will be subjective. I'll just tell you this: 10 man inter was a vision repeated many times all over the past season; more than 12 matches were played by Inter in such a condition, which became something quite usual. Noone was surprised that Matterazzi was sent off; you're the first one i have the honour to meet that was so. As you said, great teams always find a way to win; so, invoking the pitiful argument of "being less" to justify a defeat, does not honour the grandeur of a club. It's a typical argument for bad losers.

In that last point we both agree; the man is really lucky.

    1. So five titles in five seasons is all luck. It has nothing to do with his performance. Its all luck. Wow.

I wonder if you new anything about Torres before last season, when he played in a league in which he stated is much more difficult to score. He was a consistent 10-15 goal scorer and not a provider. Pretty good, not great. Torres has one major title, the European Championship. No major individual awards. Ibra carried Inter to the last two Scudettos not to mention his contribution to Juve and Ajax championships.

Edward, please stop hating on Ibra and Inter. You don't know what your talking about.

  6. Man, i do not hate Ibra nor Inter. I'm just trying to point out the reasons why i don't consider him to be the best striker in the world, as you have stated and proclaimed. You said he has won 5 titles in five seasons. For instance, he really has won 3, because Juve was stripped of their last 2 scudettos due to calciopolis. He has won 1 league with Ajax and 2 with Inter. Secondly, he won the Eredivisie with Ajax in the 2001-2002 season; that makes 3 titles in 7 seasons, not in 5. Finally, the season he won with Ajax, he scored 6 goals (in 35 app) out of 73 goals in total scored by the Ajax squad; if you call that a substantial contribution, then i take my hat and bow low to you, you win.

  7. Dude, has torres won the EPL or CL? As far as I know, no he hasnt. Lets look at it this way. Was liverpool doing as good as they are this year last year at this point WITH Torres in the line up? Nope. Torres has barely played this term and Liverpool are doing better then they did with him.

The thing about liverpool is: THEY GET BS calls in the CL every year.

You can say all you want about Inter and Ibra but INTER is on top of the CL and their Domestic league and Ibra is in superb form.

P.S. Stop hating on Inter and Ibra, it's becoming a very annoying trend.

  8. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is without doubt one of the best players in the world at the moment, is he the best striker? You can certainly make a case for it, during the Juventus game he could have had at least 2 goals but he isn't perfect, everyone misses. Ibra was receiving the ball, bodying off defenders, making great passes and showing that he isn't only 1-dimensional. At this moment, no forward is playing quite at his level except Messi since I guess we can call Lionel a wing forward. I am a big supporter of Arsenal Football Club and I think the Serie A is nothin compared to the EPL but right now theres no denying that Ibra is on form and his team is winning, which is the most important thing.
