Tim Lincecum and Felix Hernandez: 2009's Cy Young Award Winners

Tim Lincecum won the 2008 Cy Young award. My bet says he will win for many years to come. But the American League is tricky. Cliff Lee is getting old and no way can he win over 20 games in a season again.

Felix Hernandez  has 593 career strikeouts, funny thing is he's 22. In two years he can very well reach 1,000. In 20 years, he can beat Nolan Ryan.

This year he had 175 strikeouts, a 3.45 ERA. He had Cy Young numbers except for wins. He was 9-11, yes very scary numbers in that order but with the offense he had to back him up it is no surprise he only got nine wins. He had 14 wins in 2007 but with a higher ERA.

Next year, he could very easily get a 3.00 ERA, 18 wins, and 200+ strike outs. With Brandon Morrow in the rotation, the Mariners could have one of the best pitching staffs ever.

Ryan Rowland-Smith can put up very nice numbers across the board, and R.A. Dickey can keep the rotation going. Eric Bedard owes it to Seattle to win 20 games and if he gets used to the town the Mariners could be on top of the AL West.

Felix Hernandez is already the Seattle Mariners ace. He has been since Jamie Moyers departure. The Main reasons he came to Seattle was Freddy Garcia (Felix currently wears his no. 34 proudly), and the Mariners earned his family's trust. The Mariners found him at age 14 and signed him at 16.

Expect Felix Hernandez to be at the helm of the Seattle Mariners as they fight for the playoffs.
