As part of my contribution to the All-Anything NBA Team Carnival of the NBA thread. I bring you the ”All-NBA Comedy First Team.” To make this predigest list, you still must be playing in the league and you gotta be funny.
With players this funny, you don’t need a bench!
(This might become a Hooped Up regular in the future…we’ll see)
PG—Steve Nash
Steve Nash has been the player with the hottest comedic streak going this year, with skits and commercials that have been viral money all summer long. By the way, comedy is really Canada’s national sport!
Greatest Hits: Vitamin Water Spokesman / The Chipped Tooth Interview
SG—Baron Davis
Davis made headlines because of his new deal with the LA Clippers and being named the spokesman for Jenny Craig (which is funny enough to make this team alone) this summer, but Boom Dizzle has been hard at work on the comedy scene and has crafted some classic comedic gems.
- B/R Ticket Guide
Greatest Hits: Step Brothers / Baron Davis Gets His Skate On
SF—LeBron James
The best player in the league is one of the funniest people in it too. When you’re LeBron James good on the court your comedic skills can go unnoticed at times but, make no mistake James is one funny dude!
Greatest Hits: Lebron And Pussycat Doll Get Zoomy / James Is Having Fun With His USA Teammates
PF—Chris Bosh
Bosh and his comedic stylings have become well known league and world wide with his very own Youtube Channel and with his work on Jay Leno. He’s good, funny and doesn’t take himself to seriously; there is no way CB4 doesn’t start for this team!
Greatest Hits: Chris Bosh On Jay Leno Debut / Chris Bosh Goes For Comedic Gold
C—Shaquille O’Neal
If you made Kazaam, you would be a lock on this list too; but because of your damn good judgment you didn’t. Shaq is one of the biggest kids you’ll see in the NBA and when he’s not playin’ he’s jokin’.
Greatest Hits: Shaq Attacks Kobe: You Ruined My Marriage! / Shaq versus Elie “Yo Mamma” Face Off
Coach—Greg Popovich
With this group of comedians only a man that would use regular season game minutes for a prank can coach this bunch.
Greatest Hits: Hack A Shaq 5 Seconds In
(Editor's note: Hooped Up added an All-Comedy seconnd Team to round off his WhatIfSports All-Anything team).
Guards—Delonte West, Damon Jones, Gilbert Arenas

Where's Charles Barkley? He may not play anymore but he's the most outragious personality the NBA's ever produced. At least have him as a trainer or something.

No Dennis Rodman is easily the most outrageous.

The Chris Bosh video was hilarious, but may I nominate Brent Barry?
He might be the funniest guy in the NBA since Steve Kerr. Too many greatest hits to name just one, but here's some highlights.
"We had the 'Ma' without the 'Nu'"--after the Spurs lost to the Lakers in five games. Manu Ginobili played the second and third rounds on a bum ankle.
“I've got Doc Brown out front with the DeLorean,” Barry said before Game 5 at Staples Center, recalling the “Back to the Future” film series about a scientist who turns a DeLorean automobile into a time machine. “We're going to fire up the flux capacitors, go back in time and shoot a couple of free throws.”
Responding to an announcement made by the NBA at its annual pre-draft camp that it will begin imposing fines next season for players who “flop,” Barry poked fun at teammate Manu Ginobili, often accused of enhancing the effects of contact.
“There goes half of Manu's salary,” Barry said.
Spurs players, including Barry, wondered how the league will determine “flops” that merit fines.
Details of how the crackdown will be implemented haven't been determined, but likely will include video reviews.
“What's the protocol for that?” Barry said. “Are they going to hire (film critic) James Lipton?”
I couldn't find the others, but there are many.

I would include the "I've been working on the guns" interview for Nash. Fantastic!
