College Basketball, Kent State Basketball, Editorial

If you think big time performers only live in the elite teams in college basketball, you better take a second look and try to catch a Kent State basketball game.

There is a point guard there called Al Fisher, who has an ability to take over games Jordan-like. He has all the game in him, can defend, can drive to the basket, and can hit the three.

Last night, after taking the game to overtime against coach Rick Majerus' Saint Louis team, Fisher took the game over, going 7-for-7 from the field, hitting jumpers, making Jordan-type drives to the basket, and playing great defense. He had 35 points with five steals and only one turnover.

Am I a Kent fan? Well, yeaaah, but I'm being very fair and balanced—or maybe not. Facts are, Mr. Fisher is well worth the price of a MAC conference ticket. If you get an opportunity to go and watch him in a town near you, go see him. You won't be disappointed.

Just in case you don't remember the name, that's Al Fisher at Kent State University basketball.

Oh, and by the way, they also have put together, in my humble opinion, the best team since the Elite Eight of Antonio Gates fame. Go Kent.
