College Football: FIU to Upset Louisville Friday Night on ESPN
A lot of people in the media (including the Bleacher Report) see this Friday matchup between Florida International of the Sun Belt conference and Louisville of the Big East to be a cupcake tuneup game for the Cardinals. Most people wonder why this is on national television.
Well, it's on national television because this is an upset waiting to happen.
These are no kitty cats. FIU football is a program on the rise with head coach Mario Cristobal leading the way. They are going to make some moves with their two back rushing attack, who against North Texas combined for 171 yards and four touchdowns.
Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is one of Florida's best college football players; a major threat at wide out and special teams as a returner. Senior quarterback Wes Carroll threw for 192 yards in their Week 1 victory and 132 of those yards came from Hilton.
They crushed their conference opponent 41-16 while Louisville crushed FCS' Murray State 21-9. What does that tell you? If Louisville can only score 11 more points than a division 1-AA team, then what makes you think that they crush an FBS team who has won a bowl game the previous year and has one of the best players in Florida?
You are going to hear a lot of praise for Cristobal and his team from the gate and if this prophecy is fulfilled, FIU is one win away from possibly going undefeated.
