Well, the title pretty much explains it, but just in case, here's what this is about.
This week was great because my friend looked like a little puppy with his tail between his legs after the schlacking we put on Da Bears.
The great thing about the rivalry is that no matter how bad our team may be in a given year, we will still argue why our team is the best. Last season, when the Packers made it to the NFC Championship game, my friend kept saying, "That should be the Bears playing," and, "If that was the Bears, they would have won." Even though he knew they were not there for a reason.
That's the thing about it though. After the bantering back and forth, which sometimes makes me feel like we are doing our own episode of PTI or Around the Horn, we always come to our senses and admit to the other if we are wrong and just blowing smoke.
Now we would not do that with just anyone. My friend, who is a great writer for this site, will argue that the Bears are the best team until he is blue in the face and sometimes you may end up believing him—even if the Bears are 0-16!
Anyways, I thought this would be a good first article for me to do to see how people feel about my writing style. I just want to say that this is a great game and more importantly a great rivalry.
It is one that has been with me and my best friend for years. I can still remember talking Packers-Bears with him back in middle school. I know that there are probably many more out there that have friendships like this, whether it's the 'Boys and the 'Skins, or the Patriots and the Colts, this is what football does. It brings friends together. That's what it has done for me and my best friend, T.W. Krems.
