Napoli Ace Marek Hamsik Could Be a Gunner Come January
Marek Hamsik is one of several Serie A players that have been linked with Arsenal since before and now after the transfer window.
The Napoli and Slovakian star has been on the rise for the past several seasons and is at the ripe age for a big money move to a more major club than his current Italian side.
In comparison to Cesc Fabregas, both players have only just turned 24 years old. Both have been the main creative link in their clubs respected midfield for the last couple seasons.
As far as goal scoring is concerned both have averaged 11 goals a season for the past four years.
Fabergas has the edge on chances created and assists, but given the chance in Wenger's system it is possible that Hamsik could blossom into that same kind of all around creative and goal scoring force.
Hamsik's biggest asset that he could bring to the club would be his ability to be in the right place at the right time. He has an eye for goal that Wenger could continue to mold, and his eye for the key pass is there, but could still produce more.
With left overs from the sale of Fabregas and Nasri the Gunners could still splash out around £25 million which should be enough to pry Hamsik free of Napoli. It is even more likely if the Serie A side suffer a poor run in the opening rounds of the UEFA Champions League.
