Antonio Smith of the Texans apparently threw a pool party Saturday night, according to reports. Smith tweeted "Hot and sunny out at 94's paradise ranch cowboy boots ninja mask and speedo's." There were approximately 100 people at the party, many of whom spent the night, but one of the men attending the party drowned in Smith's pool.
The man was last seen around 2 a.m. and authorities arrived around 9:30 a.m. this morning. Details are still unfolding and there are several Houston media outlets on the scene with breaking news.
As of right now, there are no indications that Smith did anything wrong and foul play is not suspected, but his presence on the defensive line is key to the Texans' success in Wade Phillips' new 3-4 defense.
Smith is the only player in the Texans front seven who has played his position before, and has looked very good during the preseason. Smith is also one of the emotional leaders of the Texans and is helping first-round draft pick J.J. Watt adapt to the NFL after having a standout career at Wisconsin.
