Most experts picked Boise State to win this game. (This is a big deal in and of itself. Non-AQ teams are supposed to start out a season unranked and prove their worth as the season develops.  Boise is the real deal. Does Boise even know its non-AQ?  Who forget to send them the memo?)

Most experts were right!

With about two minutes to go in the fourth quarter, the Broncos are closing out what will be a big season-opening away win over the Georgia Bulldogs.

Kellen Moore did what Kellen Moore does throwing 3 TD passes. His current stats are 28/34 completions for 261 yards and one interception.

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray has performed stride for stride with Moore. He has thrown 15/27 completions for 229 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

While Georgia currently has 371 yards of total offense to Boise’s 391 yards, the scoreboard doesn’t show that the game was that close.

What has been the game-making factor?

Offense efficiency; the game Boise plays best.

BSU went 4/12 on third down and amassed a total of 24 first downs.  Compare those numbers to Georgia’s poor 2/13 third down conversation rate and 13 first downs.

Is Georgia a real SEC contender this year? Time will tell. But it is games like these that make those of us that enjoy cheering for the little guy want to scream at the BCS.

It’s a final folks! Boise State 35. Georgia 21.

(BYU beats Ole Miss, Boise State beats Georgia, and mighty Auburn almost loses at home to, ahem, Utah State.  Watch out Texas A&M, SMU's gunning for you!)
