Miami Dolphins Squeak Out Another Win

T.J. MorrillCorrespondent INovember 16, 2008

That was too close! The Dolphins are proving that they can win close games this year. The Dolphins are proving themselves as a fourth quarter team. Joey Porter pulled off a monstrous sack in the last Raiders series. Chad Pennington lead his team down the field for yet another fourth quarter drive to finish things off.

6-4 and second in the AFC East. Not a bad spot to be in if you're the Dolphins. Miami is only one game out of their division lead and they've got three games against the division. If they can pull off even just two of those wins the Dolphins should end up with a playoff spot (assuming they don't blow the KC, STL and SF games).

I know this statement can get annoying but if the season were to end today, the Dolphins would be in the playoffs with a wild card spot. The big thing the Dolphins are doing is stepping it up in big spots and they aren't letting little things like safeties and field goals destroy their morale.

What a tough team. These guys aren't letting anybody push them around. After that huge loss to Arizona they have decided "We aren't letting anybody just trample us anymore! It ain't gonna' go down like that!"

Similar to the Tampa Bay Rays attitude after that spring training brawl, right then they decided, "We aren't taking crap from Boston, New York, and Toronto anymore!" This is the attitude of a winning team.

This is the first time in several years that I've been able to trust the Dolphins with the ball, or to trust them to make a stand on defense. Tony Sparano has really made an impact on this team's morale and aura. Bill Parcells has brought in some great people to help get the job done as well.

The Dolphins could be on the road to being a playoff team, a contender in the NFL like the days of Shula. Let's go PHINS!
