Nicolas Anelka, the lanky Chelsea forward, has officially won the Golden Boot award after taking his goal tally to ten goals with a hat trick against Sunderland on Nov. 9th, 2008.

Anelka continued his superb form against West Brom and raised his goal count to 12 goals on the season!

Amr Zaki, the 25-year-old Egyptian on loan to Wigan, fell short with eight goals on the season. Zaki failed to find the net in Wigan's last two games, which ultimately gave the edge to the French man.

In fact, Zaki was the closest player in the league to receive the award. However, Anelka scored six goals in three matches for Chelsea which put him on top.

The forward also received ₤1,000 as a donation to the charity of his choice.

Congratulations Anelka!
