Manchester United have been drawn against Blackburn Rovers for the quarter-finals of the League Cup. United faced Blackburn when another former red was at the healm, knocking out Mark Hughes’ boys in the semi-finals back in 2006. We went on to win the competition, after facing Premiership opposition in every round, with Louis Saha shining.

The Carling Cup was somewhat of a lifeline to United back then, after finishing empty-handed in 3rd the season before, although now has returned to its rightful place as fourth priority.

Regardless, I wouldn’t turn down the chance to win the trophy, and with Liverpool and Chelsea already knocked out, our chances have considerably increased!
