Orlando Magic: Entertainment Of A Thriller

Matt Shea@isheax407Correspondent INovember 15, 2008

Thriller was the word, and it described the scene at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on the eve of Friday 14th, 2008. The new look Backcourt of the Orlando Magic rolled into the Airlines Center and put on quite the show in a friday night shootout with the Mavericks. Trailing by as many as 15 points in the third quarter, the Magic went on a tear and won for the first time in 10 years in Dallas. As a fan, seeing such camaraderie and team intensity to come back from the comfort of ESPN's highlights was truly rewarding. It seemed the Magic were going to bend and break once again as I read the score updates on a friends phone in a crowded movie theater last night, but yet again the Magic restored hope and control in a destiny that is their own outscoring the red hot Mavericks 56-44 to put a close game into their favoring in the second half, most notable though, the 4th Quarter. The Magical back court of Jameer Nelson and Mickael Pietrus combined for 41 of the 102 as the Magic escaped with a victory in the close bout' over a surprisingly low opponent. The 3 pointers began to drop in the 4th quarter for both teams as it was 78-72 heading into the 4th quarter. The Magic was begin to be sucked out of Dwight, Inc. as the Mavericks then went ahead by 15, then 11 as Dirk hit a pull-up 3 Pointer, yet then after an abrupt timeout called by Stan, the Magic started making plays and big ones. They went on to outscore the Mavs 26-24 in the fourth quarter, showing that this team really does wanna make it to the trophy matchup at the end of the year. Orlando goes on to face the Charlotte Bobcats on sunday who are a formidable opponent under Larry Brown at 3-5 this year. Roll Magic, ROLL!
