Washington Redskins rookie defensive end Jarvis Jenkins left last night's preseason game with a knee injury.

Early reports were that it was a sprain and Redskins Nation breathed a little easier.

However, after his MRI this morning, Jenkins tweeted that he in fact tore his ACL.

Jenkins has been a standout throughout training camp and during the preseason.  This will be a huge blow to the team.

For the most part, the Redskins have been pretty fortunate that more players haven't gone down and this will surely add fuel to the fire for less preseason games, but honestly, if this were Week 1, the outcome would have been the same.

I wish Jenkins a speedy recovery and can't wait to see him back on the field next season, when this team might be favorites to win the division.
