ACC College Football: Week 12 Power Rankings
Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Week 12 Power Rankings
- North Carolina (3-2, 7-2)
- Florida State (4-2, 7-2)
- Virginia Tech (3-3, 6-4)
- Miami (4-2, 7-3)
- Georgia Tech (4-3, 7-3)
- Wake Forest (4-2, 6-3)
- Maryland (3-2, 6-3)
- Boston College (2-3, 6-3)
- Virginia (3-3, 5-5)
- Clemson (2-4, 4-5)
- Duke (1-4, 4-5)
- North Carolina State (1-4, 3-6)
At No. 1 is UNC, which is coming off a huge, 28-7 rout of 7-3 Georgia Tech. Not far behind the Tar Heels is Florida State, which also boasts a 7-2 record, and Virginia Tech, which, despite its underachieving 6-4 record, has shown talent at times. Following them in the fourth spot is Miami, currently on a five-game winning streak. Capping off the top five is Georgia Tech, a surprising ACC team that is very underrated on the national stage.
Just out of the top five are three 6-3 teams who are actually pretty good—Wake Forest, Maryland, and Boston College. All of those teams will also most likely make bowl games.
The bottom four is made up of Virginia, Clemson, Duke, and NC State. Virginia is an unpredictable, scattered team, and you can never tell how good they're going to play every game. Clemson was preseason No. 9 in the nation but has really fallen under its expectations.
Duke, which didn't win a game last year, has seen rapid improvement and is even looking at a chance at a bowl game. And, finally, NC State is the only team in the ACC that hasn't looked good at any time.
