South Carolina Football: No Alabama or LSU Game Could Mean Title for Gamecocks

For all of the great teams in the SEC, South Carolina only has to play three teams that are currently ranked: Mississippi State, Arkansas and Florida and the Bulldogs and Hogs are both from the SEC West.

If the Gamecocks can get a win in either of those games and win the games they should for the rest of the season, South Carolina could easily make a return trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game.

There may not be a ceiling for this team led by the offensive trio of Stephen Garcia, Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffrey and a talented defense with Devin Taylor, Stephon Gilmore and Jadeveon Clowney.

Winning on the road in the SEC is always challenging and there are a bunch of teams in the East that could surprise. Florida impressed in its opening game and Georgia showed signs of brilliance in their loss to Boise State. Even Tennessee looks like it could start to turn things around this season.

But the clear favorite in the division based on their schedule and talent has to be South Carolina.
