The Phoenix Suns have a great balance between veterans and rookies. Led by Steve Nash, this high-octane offense can put up 110 points per night. We all know that Nash is getting older, yet every year he proves his critics wrong. He still shoots a very high percentage from the free-throw line, and has playmaking ability written all over him. He knows how to get the job done and can still hit the big three-point shot when it is needed.
Grant Hill is still getting it done at his respectable age as well. His experience and hunger to win a championship helps fuel this young Phoenix team throughout the year. I look to Nash and Hill to all have solid years despite their age.
The Suns are also filled with youth and talent. Aaron Brooks is a great complement to Nash at the point guard position. He is quicker, and has a great handle on the ball. Also, Brooks has a great three-point shot which is what the Suns are known for.
Jared Dudley has emerged on to the scene as one of the best three-point shooting small forwards in the league. Now that he has a few years of experience, I look to Dudley to have a breakout year.
I am very excited to see the combination of Channing Frye and Marcin Gortat down in the post. With Frye's ability to shoot from the outside, it will draw his defender away from the post which will leave Gortat one on one.
I am looking forward to Suns basketball this year, especially after a disappointing season last year. Everyone on that team wants to win. With the veteran experience plus the talented youth, this team has a recipe for a winning team.
