With the addition of Samir Nasri, many may think that Roberto Mancini's and Manchester City's summer spending has come to an end.

They though maybe wrong.

With a number of players expected to leave over the next couple days- the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Phillips are ready for pastures new.

There could be further additions to compliment the squad in the coming days.

It is going to be a long season with City chasing silverware on four fronts and a competitive squad is imperative.

Here we take a look at three players that may end up at the Etihad Stadium before the window slams shut until the new year.

You'll see a Siere A theme to these picks!

3. Davide Santon: Inter Milan

Davide Santon is still only 20 years old. He has been around the Inter first team for a number of seasons, but it seems he has stagnated somewhat.

The second half of last season seen Santon join Cesena in a loan deal which saw Japenese international Yuto Nagatomo go in the opposite direction.

Santon is an Italian international who is capable of playing in either full-back position or even as a make-shift winger.

His versatility also makes him very appealing to Roberto Mancini, and if he did arrive in Manchester he would be a very useful addition to the Manchester City squad.

Once dubbed the new Paulo Maldini, he has failed to live up to the great expectation as yet, but a move away from the Italian capital and the countries media may do this talented youngster the world of good.

2. Juraj Kucka: Genoa

Juraj Kucka is not that well known a name to the English football fan.

But in Italy he is beginning to carve out a real reputation for himself.

The Genoa midfielder enjoyed a very good second half of last season after joining the I Rossoblu from Sparta Prague in the January transfer window.

A centre midfielder of some bulk, he has excellent technique and his physical style of play has won him many admirers.

More of a rounded footballer that Nigel De Jong, but nowhere near as good defensively, Kucka could add more depth to the City midfield.

The Slovakian international, 24, has World Cup experience under his belt too. Representing his country in last years World Cup in South Africa.

Would be an unusual signing with likes of Milner, Barry and Toure in the squad, but he has the potential to become a very good player.

1. Daniele De Rossi: Roma

Roberto Mancini has described him as a "perfect signing " for this current Manchester City side.

The Roma and Italy midfielder is one of the best in the world at what he does.

If Mancini and Manchester City could pull this transfer off it would be some coup.

De Rossi has spent his whole career at the capital club, making over 250 appearances for the I Giallorossi and becoming a stalwart of the club alongside Franceso Totti.

A defensive midfielder with excellent passing ability, De Rossi also has an eye for the odd spectacular goal.

The Italian international would provide a massive amount of experience in European competition and his style of play will also provide the necessary cover as this new look City look to attack more frequently.

A long shot it maybe, but if Daniele De Rossi was to line up in the Sky Blue alongside Nigel De Jong then I feel European domination could be upon us.
